Cashew Pieces Online: Which Pack Should You Actually Buy? | Chota Mota

If you typed “cashew pieces online” instead of just “cashews online,” you probably already know one thing: you don’t need whole, round kernels for whatever you’re making. The real question is which piece size actually fits the job — because Chota Mota sells four different ones, and they’re not interchangeable.

What “pieces” actually are

Cashew pieces aren’t a lower-quality nut. Every batch of cashews that gets shelled and graded naturally produces some broken bits alongside the whole kernels — it’s physically unavoidable with a nut this shape. Same taste, same freshness, same kernel. The only thing that changes is size.

The four packs, and what each one is for

  • Baby (₹210) — the smallest bits. Best for granola, trail mix, dusting over kheer or phirni, or blending into cashew cream and smoothies where you don’t want any bite at all.
  • 8-Piece (₹240) — small chunks. Good for tempering in upma, poha, and pulao, or mixing into dry roasted snack blends where a little crunch should show without taking over.
  • 4-Piece (₹300) — quarter-kernel chunks. Right for baking (cookies, cakes) where you want visible bits without whole nuts, or garnishing kheer and halwa with actual texture.
  • Split / 2-Piece (₹310) — halves, the closest thing to whole. Best when you want cashews to be clearly seen and felt — gifting jars, or any dish where the cashew is part of the presentation, not just the flavour.

The money part

If a recipe calls for chopped cashews anyway, buying the matching piece pack instead of a whole pack and chopping it yourself saves you the knife time — and a little money. Piece packs are priced lower than whole packs, because broken pieces are simply more common in any batch than clean whole kernels. It’s not a lesser product. It’s just a more available one.

One storage note

Pieces have more cut surface exposed than whole kernels, so once a pack is opened, they pick up moisture and go soft slightly faster. Reseal the pouch properly after each use rather than leaving it folded over.

Before you add to cart

Picture the finished dish. If you’ll actually see individual cashew pieces in it, go Split. If you’re blending, melting, or dusting, Baby or 8-Piece does the identical job for less.
